Started in 1986 by notable pranksters Joey Skaggs, the April Fools' Day Parade is now a New York tradition, with parade members dressing and acting as foolish as possible. The public is encouraged to get into the spirit of things (i.e. acting like fools) whether they're in street clothes or elaborate colonial attire.
