Gastro pub in Bed-Stuy with some heavenly mac & cheese and fantastic burgers. Food that earns a recommendation from Michelin Guide makes this an attractive spot for the rabid sports fans that descend on the joint to catch all the major pro and college action as well as European Soccer,.

Ramen Setagaya

Noodle fans and Japanese expats rejoiced when this, the first US branch of Japanese mini-chain opened in the East Village. But the true celebrants and the ones who go in droves are the students from nearby NYU and Cooper who are smart enough to know great food at a great price.

The Back Room at One57

Almayass

Authentic Lebanese cuisine, with a detour into traditional Armenian dishes. The story began in the cosmopolitan heyday of Beirut, where a third-generation Armenian family, turned their attention to perfecting the cooking of both their heritage and their home. With locations across the Middle East, a NYC home was found in the Flatiron District, and since its opening has garnered praise from the press and patrons alike.

Blujeen

Belnd of soul, Southern and classic American cuisine. Playing off the roots of old Harlem, with contemporary flavors. Great burger and seasonal tasting menus from Chef Lane Knowling. Well curated list of American wines and rotating selection of craft brews.

Miss Lily's — 7A

Miss Lily's East Village location serving up Jamaican classics, and traditional American fare with Caribbean twists. They try, and largely succeed, to honor the locations past as the iconic 7A. Stitched into the neighborhood as place for families and friends to have a cheap bite, and revelers to start, end, or continue night out in the lively night life scene all around.

Sidecar

Neighborhood gem, with handsome interior, comfy booths and solid American comfort food. Here you will find locals catching up or catching a game, enjoying excellent selection of craft beers or specialty cocktails. Excellent brunch on weekends. A gem of an interior, with preserved late 1800's advertisement for a Dr. Tucker's 59, was discovered adorning one of the walls. A popular elixir to cure what ails you - be it a cold, consumption, or perhaps boredom. It's active ingredient is probably what did the trick, the now it is illegal, though commonly snorted in bathrooms all over Manhattan by people who should know better.

AYZA Wine & Chocolate Bar — West Village

The proprietors of AYZA Wine & Chocolate Bar are committed to providing an impeccable, first-class dining experience through their unique menu, coupled with a selection of over 90 fine wines and champagnes from all over the world. AYZA Wine & Chocolate bar, offers its patrons finest food and wines in an elegant, yet comfortable atmosphere, in which to dine, meet friends, or have drinks after work.

212 Steakhouse

Chic midtown steak house that features authentic Japanese Kobe beef. Variety of seafood and salads offered as well, along with an extensive wine list with many reasonably priced options.

Battery Gardens

Located inside Battery Park across from 17 State Street, Battery Gardens is a waterfront venue that offers stunning panoramic views of New York Harbor - including the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Governor's Island. Enjoy contemporary American and Continental cuisine as you you watch Staten Island Ferry's elegant traipse across the harbor. Outdoor seating in warmer weather, beer garden for beer people open daily, great spot to cool your feet, have a drink or elegant meal and watch the world drift by.

Bijan

Persian fare in cozy intimate space with wood burning stove in Boreum Hill. Friendly, knowledgable staff serves up some creative cocktails. The food is American bistro style with serious Persian influences.

Le Garage

Yes indeed the space was once a garage, but when Rachel Allswang, an interior designer turned restauranteur, got her hands on it she converted the space into a welcoming, comfy French joint. With food inspired by her mother, Catherine's, recipes. Catherine served at numerous restaurants around the globe, including a Laiterie Sainte Clotilde, Le Sept/Quinze, Chez Graff and Le Cafe´ de Mars in Paris, as well as Le Mistral and South Park Cafe´ in San Francisco. The menu is seasonal with locally sourced ingredients, and a large bar serves great cocktails, regional beers and has a wine list that leans French.

Airy and friendly Italian fare in Tribeca, with focus on shared and small plates

Laut

Laut focuses on bringing the best recipes, dishes and flavors from South East Asia. They preserve the authentic flavor profiles of each dish, using regionally authentic spices and the freshest ingredients. Dishes from Malay peninsula, with flavors inspired by the street food of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Check out owner Stacey Mehta Lo and her husband chef Salil Mehta's Indian-Chinese restaurant The Chinese Clubin Williamsburg.

Cafe Clover

Healthy contemporary American fare from Chef David Standridge. Fresh, locally sourced vegetables and careful attention paid to providing healthy — and delicious — options. Even the cocktail menu seems to offer virtue. Mixologist Johnny Swet combines beet juice with vodka, and cools drinks with coconut water ice cubes!

Robicelli's

Husband & wife team Matt and Allison have created an amazing bakery out in Bay Ridge. Celebrated for their dense, flakey pies, amazing cupcakes and a whole host of other treats. For those hesitant to make the trek out to Bay Ridge, fear not, just head to their website and your treats will be on there way!

Southgate Bar & Restaurant

Located in the iconic Essex House, with floor to ceiling windows offering stunning views of central park, and an elegant décor befitting the eventual sticker shock one can receive when the bill arrives. Solid, if conservative, New American Cuisine from Chef Kerry Heffernan with seasonal, sustainable greenmarket ingredients. Classic cocktails from a beautiful bar and impressive wine list round out the experience, and make the spot worthwhile for an elegant drink.
